Banana Brown Sugar Latte with Whipped Oat Cream
A cozy homemade latte made with a caramelised ripe banana syrup swirled into strong espresso and topped with fluffy whipped oat cream — your new favourite morning ritual.
Ingredients
- 2 cupsunsweetened oat milk
- 1 mediumripe banana
- 3 tablespoonsbrown sugar
- 2 tablespoonsespresso powder or 2 shots of espresso
- 1/2 teaspoonvanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspooncinnamon
- 1 cupunsweetened oat milk for whipping
- 2 tablespoonspowdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoonvanilla extract for cream
How to make it
Heat 2 cups of unsweetened oat milk in a saucepan over medium heat until steaming, about 5 minutes. Do not boil.
Peel and slice the banana into a blender with the heated oat milk.
Add 3 tablespoons brown sugar, espresso powder, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, and cinnamon to the blender.
Blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes until smooth and frothy.
Pour the latte into two mugs.
Chill 1 cup oat milk in the freezer for 5 minutes to prepare for whipping.
Pour the chilled oat milk into a clean bowl and whisk vigorously with powdered sugar and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract for 2-3 minutes until soft peaks form.
Top each latte with whipped oat cream and a light sprinkle of cinnamon. Serve immediately.
