Caramelized Banana Brown Sugar Latte
Ripe bananas slowly caramelized with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla into a silky homemade syrup that transforms your morning espresso into a cozy café-worthy latte.
Ingredients
- 2 tbspbrown sugar
- 1ripe banana, sliced
- 1 tbspbutter
- 240mlwhole milk
- 30mlheavy cream
- 15mlespresso or strong brewed coffee
- 1/4 tspvanilla extract
- pinchsea salt
- pinchground cinnamon
How to make it
Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat
Add brown sugar and banana slices, stirring constantly for 3-4 minutes until caramelized and banana is golden
Remove from heat and set caramelized banana mixture aside
Heat milk and cream in a saucepan over medium heat until steaming, do not boil
Brew espresso or prepare strong coffee
Pour hot coffee into a serving mug
Add vanilla extract and sea salt to the hot milk mixture
Froth the milk mixture using a frother or whisk vigorously for 30 seconds
Pour frothed milk into the coffee mug, holding back foam with a spoon
Top with milk foam and spoon caramelized banana mixture onto the foam
Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve immediately
