Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

Ingredients

  • 500gbeef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 400gfresh broccoli florets
  • 3cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoonfresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tablespoonstamari sauce
  • 1 tablespoonrice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoonsesame oil
  • 2 tablespoonsvegetable oil
  • 1 teaspooncornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoonred pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoonswater
  • 2green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoonsesame seeds

How to make it

Step 1

In a small bowl, whisk together tamari sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, water, and cornstarch. Set aside.

Step 2

Pat beef slices dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat until smoking.

Step 4

Working in batches, sear beef for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Transfer to a plate.

Step 5

Add remaining oil to the wok. Stir-fry broccoli florets for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.

Step 6

Add minced garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Stir constantly for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 7

Return beef to the wok with the sauce mixture. Toss everything together for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens and coats ingredients.

Step 8

Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
