Spiced Lamb Kofta with Yogurt Sauce
Ground lamb mixed with warm spices, shaped into kebabs and grilled until charred and juicy. Serve with flatbread, fresh herbs and cooling yogurt.
Ingredients
- 500gground lamb
- 1medium onion, finely diced
- 3garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbspfresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tbspfresh mint, chopped
- 1 tspground cumin
- 1 tspground coriander
- 0.5 tspcayenne pepper
- 0.5 tspground cinnamon
- 1egg
- 50galmond flour
- 0.5 tspsea salt
- 0.25 tspblack pepper
- 2 tbspolive oil
- 250mlGreek yogurt
- 2 tbsplemon juice
- 1garlic clove, minced
- 1 tbspfresh dill, chopped
- pinchsea salt for sauce
How to make it
Combine ground lamb, diced onion, minced garlic, parsley, and mint in a large bowl
Add cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon to the lamb mixture
Mix in the egg and almond flour until well combined
Season with sea salt and black pepper, then divide mixture into 8 equal portions
Mold each portion around metal or wooden skewers into elongated kofta shapes
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat
Cook kofta for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through and lightly browned
While kofta cooks, whisk together Greek yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, and dill in a bowl
Season yogurt sauce with a pinch of sea salt and stir well
Transfer cooked kofta to a serving plate and serve immediately with yogurt sauce on the side
